Brewers vs Giants 6/15/19
The Brewers and Giants were in a back and forth tug of war game. Lots of scoring, errors, hits, and crucial plays. There were a few home runs included too. There was a crucial moment late in the game where the Giants took the lead and later scored an insurance run. They had been losing the whole time, and without the insurance run it may have gone the other way.
Final 8-7 Giants over Brewers
I got to feel like a “local” taking the rail system downtown to the area where the stadium. Upon approaching the stadium you can’t help but see the WIllie Mays statue and main entrance to Oracle Park. I noticed a KNBR radio tent, played charades with the radio guys, and went into the divided area where they were to get a chance to go on air with Marty and the team of KNBR! It was a fantastic experience, and they joked about my Forrest Gump looks/accent. Haha. The experience really set the tone of the day and game for me. It made the whole 2,000 mile drive way worth it! A kind manager for the team’s community affairs dept left me a care package that was really sweet! They even got to hold it for me in the guest services center up on the main concourse. Someone in the office recognized me based on the emails I had sent, so that was cool experience I guess for them to meet me. After the game I got to take my time and tour around the stadium and get food later at 21st amendment brewery a few blocks away in downtown.
Oracle Park is definitely high on my “favorite” list of stadiums.
