Cardinals vs Padres 6/28/19
The game was a really good pitching duel with not too many hits while also crucial catches and throws on the field. There were quite a few challenged calls too...more than other games it felt like. Machado made some crazy plays keeping the Cards at bay from scoring. Cards did striker 1st with a very close call at 1st, but then the Padres went Back-to-Back with homers from Tatis Jr. and Hosmer. Padres got an insurance run later in the 8th inning. Kirby Yates came out and got the save allowing him to set a new Padre record for most saves before the all-star break for the organization with 27 of them.
I was able to see another WR friend who I met while on the Race in India nearly 8 years ago, and then I got to explore the USS Midway aircraft carrier on the bay of SD. Oh man, I was a child all over again on this ship. I could have been there for another 3 hours. It’s such an amazing museum and I highly recommend it!
Apparently season ticket holders could get 50% off anything in the team stores so I made a friend and got a classic Tony Gwynn Cooperstown Classic jersey for a really good price. My friends Shaun and Bethany made it to the game too and being able to just hang out with them and my Denver friend, Rick, at the game just made my time there even more enjoyable. We even got on the screen about midway through the game! Haha! So good! This is definitely 1 of my favorite stadiums.
