Cardinals vs Mariners 7/2/19
The game started off with a solo homer from the Cardinals. It was a back and forth game the whole time. There were so many reviewed plays and pitching changes in this game that made it feel slower than others. Mariners came back with 2 runs in the 2nd and then again in the 5th. Cardinals made it interesting when they tied the ball game up in the top of the 7th. Beckham hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th that eventually led the Mariners to win the game. Lots of home runs, 5 to be exact. This was only the 3rd time the Cardinals had ever been up to Seattle since they’d opened the field.
Final 5-4 Mariners on top of the Cardinals.
I was blessed with a free parking pass by the Mariners’ community relations dept. (thank you!), and I was able to literally park right next to the stadium. So convenient! The day was a typical Seattle day with temps in the 50s/60s, overcast, misty weather, and a bit of wind. I was cold to be honest, and grateful for the roof. The view of downtown and the football stadium just outside of the left field wall was a great view, but really to be seen when in the upper levels along 1st base side. The Beckham home run was hit fairly close to us and sort of could see my neon sign on the highlight reel.
