Red Sox vs Royals 6/5/19
Let’s just say the Red Sox came to play and the Royals didn’t. Chris Sale pitched a complete game shut out. All 9 innings. I didn’t realize it until near the end of the game what was actually happening, because it never crossed my mind that the same pitcher was still playing. I guess that’s what happens when it’s an American League Division game. Offense was consistent and for the whole duration of the game for the Red Sox, especially later on in the game.
Final 8-0 with Boston over KC.
I got to eat some classic KC BBQ from Joe’s BBQ. SO delicious. The people overall were really friendly and commented on my sign often. I got to physically be present and watch a complete game shut out. Not too many can say that. I got to meet up with Tricia Alberts, who is the leader for 1 of the non-profits I’m promoting through this trip. She leads/works with Sports Crusaders out of Holt’s Summit, MO. You can learn more about them and their mission on my non-profit page. :)
Road trip: Yes, I drove from Dallas that morning all the way to KC in about 8.5 hours. I took a lot of back country through eastern OK and KS. I did enjoy it, because there was a lot more to see in the towns. I even saw the extremely high water levels from the recent flooding. There were some parts where the water had receded 3-4 feet and you can see the dead leaves of trees from across the various bodies of water.
