Travel days from LA to SD, which isn’t much of a drive honestly. On the 26th I went up to see a friend in Santa Monica while also dropping off my Subaru at the dealership there to get an in-depth diagnostics check-up. I had called the manager of the service dept and was kind enough to let me bring it in and see what’s wrong for no charge. It was such a blessing, and we now know what is causing the engine to overheat...a small hole in the head gasket leaking coolant.
After all was said and done, I drove only 70 miles to San Clemente where I have friends who let me stay for the night. It took 3 hours, thanks to classic LA traffic. It was so good catching up with my friends and being with them.
The next day of the 27th was a slow and relaxed morning allowing me to get some planning done and laundry. It’s the simple things that are nice to get taken care of while on the road. Upon arriving to my friend’s place in SD. I went over to a place called Quantum Brewery and got an amazing tequila barrel aged Brett sour. So good. I met up with my friend quickly afterwards to go to Mission Beach and go for a run with his running club. I hadn’t run a decent distance in a while, so it was tiring but good. We even got to see sunset on the beach with dolphins out in the water, not making this up.
